40-year-old dress
My sister-in-law saved this dress since 1970 and now she handed it down to Jannica. I really don't mind letting my daughter wear it. It obviously didn't have torn nor stains and it absolutely is in good condition.
This photograph was taken last January 1st. What an "old" way to start the "new" year...but if the dress fits then why not?....Anyway, this dress serves as a family heirloom.

A Bear For Jenny
Mermaid Princess
The little mermaid sat and dreamed
Of a life with her prince above.
She wanted to dance with him.
She would give up anything for love.
She agreed to deformity,
Giving up her sleek graceful tail.
Her very life would be forfeit
If in this great quest she should fail.
Mermen must have been much more true
For her to agree to such a plan.
She gambled everything and failed.
She was NOT CHERISHED by her man.
The Brothers Grimm told her sad tale,
of true love again not returned.
A woman who bestows her love,
often by fickle man is spurned.
of true love again not returned.
A woman who bestows her love,
often by fickle man is spurned.
AmigurumI Cacti
My deep enthusiasm for plants started when I was 12. I had my own garden collection of all sorts of ornamental plants such as Mexican Sunflower, zinnias various kinds of petunias, tulipans, dahlias, gumamelas, bromeliads and roses. I also had dancing ladies, mickey mouse plants, sunflowers, sampaguitas, aloe vera, golden rosary, kucharitas, yellow bells and various kinds of CACTI. Yes, I was a succulent lover…and still is.

Amigurumi Monkey With Matching Cap and Pouch
If you had to finish something, it could be a project or a requirement that needs to be submitted the next day and you only have a few hours in the evening to finish it. How would you do it? Would you prefer to sleep earlier and wake up early the next day and finish the work or sleep late until it is finished? Which would work best for you?
Well, mine would have to be the latter. Yes, alright alright…sleeping earlier and wake up early the next day may refresh your mind and body and can make you work best during the wee hours. But then, my excitement for this project kept me awake ALL NIGHT. I was a bit fidgety and was anxious to finish another amigurumi monkey.
I slept at 6 a.m....Yes, I did.

Monkeys, like bears are quick projects you can make. You don't need patterns to finish this. You just need 2 crochet balls for the head and body, 6 flat rounds and 4 hot dogs for the extremities and VOILA, you're done.
